Specialist insurer CFC on Monday said it has named former Truist Insurance head John Howard as chair, subject to regulatory approval.
He succeeds Richard Ward, who has served as chair since 2022 and will continue to serve on CFC’s board as senior independent non-executive director, CFC said in a statement.
Mr. Howard was chairman and CEO of Truist Insurance Holdings, which in 2024 was sold to private equity firms by parent Truist Financial Corp.
Truist Insurance was home to major brands including CRC, Crump, McGriff, and Starwind.
He also serves as Independent nonexecutive director of Everest Group, chairman of Compre Group, and chairman of The Council of Insurance Agents and Brokers, the statement said.
CFC named Justin Camara CEO of CFC USA in January.
