You might not believe what you’re hearing. With the rising accessibility of artificial intelligencea new report stated that in the span of nine days, nearly 39% of podcast feeds might have been AI-generated.
The new boom was documented by the Podcast Index, an open-source tracking platform owned by Dave Jones. The tracker notes that many of these AI-generated podcasts are being uploaded to multiple podcast platformsprimarily Spreaker by iHeartRadio. These episodes made by multiple accounts target a wide range of topics, cultures, and languages.
Under the Spreaker website, if recognized by its software, the company will highlight to the side that the podcast is AI-generated. One company in particular has flooded the site in recent months with different podcast episodes under various topics ranging from a Portuguese biography of Bruno Mars’s life to a study on walking 10,000 steps a day.
Part of Inception AI, the “Quiet Please Podcast Network” has been silently building its portfolio and has monetizing off its AI hosts. According to their website, Quiet Please has made over 4,000 shows, averaging 3,000 new episodes a week, and has reached over 10 million people. In an Interview with CNN, the company confirmed it makes each episode for $1 or less.

AI podcasts are hitting the market at smaller scales as well. One entrepreneur named Adam Levy has found success with an AI-generated podcast based on the Epstein files. “I started building this because I spent a long time watching the economics of traditional media make it harder and harder to fund the kind of reporting that actually requires someone to sit down and read 10,000 pages of depositions before they can write a single informed sentence,” he wrote on Substack.
Levy has created his own company to back the effort and is looking to produce 120 episodes a month. “I figured out how to do that same work in hours instead of months, and I am publishing everything I find, sourced and cited and verifiable, as fast as I can produce it.”
Large companies are cashing in, too. Amazon has gone as far as creating an AI “podcast” about products users search when using the app. While researching, the makeshift podcast will tell you in full about the product and will take questions from users live, like a talk show or QVC.
